Coaches tab LSU as 2024 SEC Women's Basketball Champions

Birmingham, Ala. - LSU is predicted to win the 2024 Southeastern Conference women's basketball championship in a vote of the league's coaches.

LSU tops the order of finish, with South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Arkansas rounding out the top half the league. Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, Auburn, Vanderbilt and Kentucky round out the bottom half.

LSU's Angel Reese was voted as SEC Women's Basketball Preseason Player of the Year. South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso and Tennessee's Rickea Jackson also received votes.

Joining Reese, Cardoso and Jacison on the All-SEC Preseason First Team are Hailey Van Lith, LSU; Madison Scott, Ole Miss; Jessika Carter, Mississippi State; Hayley Frank, Missouri and Janiah Barker, Texas A&M.

The Preseason Second Team All-SEC is comprised of Makayla Daniels, Arkansas; Flau'Jae Johnson, LSU; Annesah Morrow, LSU; Erynn Barnum, Mississippi State; JerKaila Jordan, Mississippi State; Te-Hina Paopao, South Carolina; Tamari Key, Tennessee; Jewel Spear, Tennessee and Aicha Coulibaly, Texas A&M.

Coaches cannot vote for their own team or players and ties are not broken.

The 2024 season officially tips on Monday, November 6.
