COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Three Tigers finished in double-figures attacking as the University of Missouri volleyball team (10-5, 2-2 SEC) edged Texas A&M (10-4, 2-2 SEC), 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21) Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena.

Colleyville, Texas native, Janet deMarrais paced Mizzou with a career-best 18 kills and eight digs (second-straight match with eight) competing in her home state for the first time as a student-athlete. It marked the sophomore outside hitter's fifth-straight double-digit kill outing (sixth in 2023).

Jordan Iliff chipped in a double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs on a .270 hitting percentage to go with six blocks and two aces. It marked her third double-double of the campaign. Dilara Gedikoglu finished with 10 kills, eight digs, a block and an ace.

With the win, Mizzou tied its SEC win total from the past two seasons (2021 and 2022). The victory also marked the Tigers first double-digit win season since 2020 (16-8, 15-7 SEC).

FIRST SET (25-22 Mizzou, Mizzou leads 1-0)

• Mizzou commenced the match with a 5-2 advantage that grew to 10-6 after a kill from Gedikoglu.
• Missouri then took a 15-11 lead at the media stoppage after an Aggies service error.
• The Tigers would widen the gap to 18-12 following an Iliff kill and a Texas A&M miscue.
• The Aggies responded with a 3-0 run to trim the Mizzou lead to 18-15 and prompt a timeout for the Tigers.
• Colleen Finney, deMarrais and Morgan Isenberg connected on three-straight rally stoppers to make the score 23-17 in favor of Missouri.
• Sierra Dudley would then elect for a setter dump to bring on set point (24-20). The Aggies would score twice more off Mizzou errors before Isenberg sealed the first set (25-22) with a kill.
• deMarrais commenced the match with five kills followed by Isenberg (three kills on a .400 clip).

SECOND SET (Mizzou 25-22, Mizzou leads 2-0)

• Gedikoglu terminated a rally before Iliff and Isenberg combined for a block to provide Mizzou a 15-11 edge at the media timeout.
• The Aggies would then even the set at 16-16 before Iliff added kills to retie the frame at 17-17 and 20-20.
• The Tigers would then close the set on a 4-0 run (25-22) to increase their lead to 2-0 in the match. deMarrais posted a kill before consecutive blocks by Iliff and Isenberg, followed by a Dudley service ace to wrap the frame.
• deMarrais compiled seven kills on a .278 clip during the second set Sunday. Iliff (.273) and Gedikoglu each chipped in four.
• Mizzou hit .234 in the second set.
• The second stanza featured 15 ties and seven lead changes.

THIRD SET (Texas A&M 25-19, Mizzou leads 2-1)

• The Aggies then utilized a 4-0 run for an early 9-6 lead in the third frame.
• A kill from Caroline Meuth provided Texas A&M a 15-12 advantage at the media stoppage.
• Iliff blasted a kill to cut the deficit to one (16-15) before Texas A&M regrew its margin to 18-15 and 21-16 which brought on both Mizzou timeouts.
• deMarrais notched a kill before a Dudley ace to trim the lead to 23-19 before Texas A&M took the next two points.
• deMarrais had five kills during set #3, hitting at a rate of .300.
• Texas A&M posted a team hitting percentage of .379 to force a fourth frame.

FOURTH SET (Mizzou 25-21, Mizzou wins 3-1)

• The Tigers went on an early 4-0 run for a 7-5 edge. deMarrais capped the sequence with an ace before a block assist from Isenberg and Iliff coupled with an Isenberg rally stopper.
• Gedikoglu added a pair of kills followed by an ace to make the scoreboard read 14-10 in favor of Mizzou.
• Missouri went to the media timeout leading 15-13 before the Aggies responded with consecutive points to knot the set.
• The Tigers then distanced themselves from Texas A&M with a 5-0 run (20-15). deMarrais teamed up with Isenberg for a block assist followed by an Iliff kill. Iliff then joined Isenberg for another block assist.
• Iliff added two more terminations for 21-16 and then 23-18 Mizzou advantages.
• The Aggies would then cut the margin to 23-21 before consecutive kills by Iliff and deMarrais secured the victory at 25-21.
• Iliff wrapped the match with seven kills on a .455 clip over the fourth set Sunday.

• The victory also marked the Tigers first double-digit (10) win season since 2020 (16-8, 15-7 SEC).
• The SEC road win was head coach Dawn Sullivan's first at the helm of the Mizzou program.
• With the win, Missouri picked up its first victory over Texas A&M in College Station since Sept. 24, 2017 (3-1) as Mizzou had previously not faced Texas A&M on the road over the last six seasons.
• Texas A&M now leads the all-time series with Missouri, 33-20.

• Mizzou next continues SEC play, as the Tigers return home to host Kentucky at the Hearnes Center (6:30 p.m., CT) on Friday, Oct. 6.
• The match against the Wildcats will be streamed on SEC Network+.
• Oct. 6 is Alumni Night and Mental Health Awareness Night. The Tigers will recognize the 2013 SEC Championship team for their 20th anniversary.
