Fayetteville, AR - No. 8 seed Florida pulled away from No. 9 seed Kentucky with a three-run rally in the fifth. Charla Echols hit an RBI single in the sixth, securing the Gators' 6-2 win over the Wildcats, eliminating Kentucky from the SEC Tournament.

Echols leads the SEC with 63 RBI.

The Gators hit 8-of-28 for a .286 batting average. Florida entered the tournament with a .322 batting average in the regular season.

Despite scoring six runs, the Gators missed several opportunities to add to the scoreboard, leaving seven runners on base. Most notably when Kentucky pitcher Stephanie Schoonover retired three Florida hitters in a row with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third.

"We started this year that we needed six runs because we knew our pitching was going to be a battle and we knew this year was going to be a grind," Wallace said. "Now we've moved that to eight runs and we're really just trying to get eight on the board. If we can do that, we're going to be solid. Today it worked out for us but we can always score more."

Skylar Wallace hit .463 with 1 RBI and three runs scored, hitting a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth. Wallace is the only Division I player with at least 65 runs scored, 60 hits, 50 RBI, 30 stolen bases and 45 walks.

"I just found a way to get on base," said Wallace. "That's what I'm really trying to get as a lead-off batter. I'm really just trying to get on base and trust my hitters behind me to get me in."

Florida has five SEC Tournament titles and nine championship appearances, second best overall in the league.
