OXFORD, Miss. - Kelly Brady was once again the hero for Ole Miss Soccer (5-2-1) Friday night as her penalty kick goal gave them all they needed to take down LSU (5-3-1) to open SEC play.

Brady scored the only goal of the match as the Rebels shut out the Tigers 1-0 for their fourth clean sheet of the season. Shu Ohba, the SEC saves leader, made seven saves and faced 22 shots on the night on her way to her fourth shutout of the season.

With the win, Ole Miss remains undefeated at home this season and has now won their SEC opener in three straight seasons.

It only took 19 minutes and 13 seconds for Brady to score her fourth goal in two matches as an LSU handball in the box gave Ole Miss a penalty kick in the 20th minute of play. The Rebels' leading scorer lied up to take the kick, putting it in the bottom left corner as the Tiger goalkeeper dove to the right.

Ole Miss took just one more shot in the opening half but would head into the break with a 1-0 lead.

The Ole Miss defense took over in the second half, stopping everything the Tigers could throw at them. LSU took 13 shots in the final 45 minutes and every single one found either the feet of a Rebel, the gloves of Ohba, or the trees behind the net.

The Rebels were able to create a couple opportunities for themselves but wouldn't end up needing another goal as they ran away with the 1-0 win.

Ole Miss will head back to Nashville next week for a date with Vanderbilt on September 21.
