LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Alabama women's basketball team defeated the Little Rock Trojans, 63-39, Sunday afternoon inside Jack Stephens Center. The Crimson Tide held the Trojans to six points in the second quarter to hold its fifth consecutive opponent to 50 or fewer points.

Alabama (5-0) was led by three starters who posted double figures, led by Sarah Ashlee Barker's game-high 15 points. Jessica Timmons (14) and Loyal McQueen (10) also reached double-digit scoring, while Timmons led the Crimson Tide on the glass with a career-best nine rebounds.

The Trojans (0-4) were led by Leilani Wimbish-Gay with seven points and six rebounds.

"Proud of our team today. Any win on the road is a good win and this is a hard place to play. Traditionally, Coach [Joe Foley] has done a great job with his system and style of play. [Little Rock] likes to limit possessions and make it ugly. At the end of the day, our team found a way, especially in the third, to come out and get some buckets. I thought [Jessica Timmons] got going, we needed someone on the road to step up and make some plays, and I thought she had some toughness about her in the third. Good win for our program today."

How It Happened

• Alabama scored 20 of its 29 points in the paint during the first half
• The Tide's defense held the Trojans scoreless over a combined seven-minute span in the second quarter to take a nine-point lead (29-20) into halftime
• UA combined for seven first half offensive boards, converting those into 10 second-chance points
• The Crimson Tide went on a 14-0 run to start the third quarter and take control of the game with a 23-point advantage
• Alabama didn't look back going on an 11-0 run to start the fourth and would eventual lead by as many as 30 before settling for the 24-point victory
