Georgia's Chase Condra earned the first win of his collegiate career to lead the Bulldogs to a team victory at the Stan Sims Cross Country Opener. His time of 14:33.84 was the fastest 5k time of his career. Condra helped the Bulldogs post 27 points to edge Georgia Tech (29) by two points.

Tennessee's Eli Nahom's placed first in the Tennessee Cross Country Invitational with a time of 19:53.3 in the four-mile run. It was his second consecutive home meet victory. Nahom's time set a new personal best over a four-mile course and helped lead the Vols to the team win with 24 points.

South Carolina's new distance runner Judy Kosgei jumped into the record book in just one meet. The Kenya native began the season with a program-record time of 16:52.6 in the Eye Opener 5K, besting the previous school record by 11 seconds. Kosgei's time was good enough to claim the podium in the season opener, winning by a full 19 seconds.

Texas A&M's Jack Johnston made his collegiate debut at the John McKenzie invitational logging an impressive second place finish, placing only behind his teammate Jonathan Chung, an NCAA qualifier last season. He ran a personal best time of 15:13.84.

In her first collegiate meet, Auburn's Mary Mac Collins won the Foothills Invitational, crossing in 14:10.10, to outdistance fellow teammate Audrey Dunn. She helped the Auburn women win the team race, marking the Tiger women's first meet win since the 2022 Foothills Invitational.

She finished ahead of 2022 SEC points scorers and teammates Callie Tucker, Andie-Marie Jones and Msgana Araya. The Lady Vols dominated the meet with a perfect score of 15 points in the team standings.
